Montblanc 2012 Writers Edition Jonathan Swift

Saturday, May 19, 2012

Their is more and more news on the new Writers Edition 2012 of Montblanc. The pen wil be dedicated to Jonathan Swift known as a writer of Gulliver's Travels. It looks a great pen to me. Some kind of mixture between the Montblanc Kafka and an Omas 360.

The Writers Edition 2012 is dedicated to British-Irish writer Jonathan Swift: writer, poet and essayist often considered the most important prose satirist in the English language, and creator of the satiric masterpiece: “Gulliver’s Travels”.
The overall design of the pen draws inspiration from “Gulliver’s Travels”, and in particular the Lilliput episode, Gulliver’s first voyage. The barrel is made of black lacquer and decorated with multilayered inlays reminiscent of the ropes that were used to bind Gulliver at the beach of Lilliput island.

The cap is made of precious black resin, and shaped like Gulliver’s tricorn – a typical tradesman three-cornered hat popular in the 18th century. It bears the signature of Jonathan Swift. A platinum-plated clip depicts the staircase the mayor of Lilliput had to climb to be able to talk to Gulliver. Finally, the instrument’s delicately designed rhodium-plated 18K gold nib is decorated with an elaborate engraving showing the imperial army of Lilliput marching between Gulliver’s legs.

The Writers Edition Jonathan Swift is only available in a strictly limited edition worldwide, with an issue number engraved on the cap as a guarantee of its uniqueness. With this uniquely crafted piece, Montblanc reinforces Swift’s unmistakable influence on culture and modern thought. Montblanc - a story to tell.

The Writers Edition is available in Fountain pen, Rollerball, Ballpoint Pen and Mechanical Pencil (set only) from August 2012 in Montblanc boutiques worldwide.

I know I will get the fountain pen version with a B-nib.

Noodler's Burma Road Brown

Tuesday, January 4, 2011

I bought this bottle from Brian Goulet owner of the Goulet Pen Company. It is a great shop for pen enthusiasts, Brian will make you a satisfied customer. I was looking for a dark color I could use every day but was something different then my Noodler's Black. In World War II this Burma Road was very important for the English troops. Noodler's received some dated vintage ink samples dated around World War II. From these samples they made this IMG_6889

Color
The color is green/brown and very saturated dark. The shading on Rhodia and Moleskine papers are different but looks very nice on both of them. This is the color I was looking for. It is more green I think then brown.
